Eligibility self‑check (before you apply)

Confirm all of the following:
 

Applicant and host

☐ The formal applicant and host is an accredited university in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden.

☐ The Principal Investigator has completed a PhD and has a formal affiliation with the host university.

☐ A signed commitment letter from the host university (Head of Faculty or equivalent) can be provided.

Research scope

☐ The project is basic scientific research (not applied research or experimental development).

☐ The project aligns with the thematic call purpose and priorities.

☐ The main scientific focus is in the Nordic region.

☐ At least 50% of activities and budget will be carried out in Nordic countries.

Budget and duration

☐ Requested funding is NOK 5–12 million.

☐ Project duration is no more than 36 months.

☐ Project can start within 6 months of award.

☐ No indirect or overhead costs are included.

☐ No double funding of the same activities or costs.

Partners

☐ Any non‑university organizations participate only as partners, not as host, and do not receive funding.

Transparency and openness

☐ Publications can be made immediately open access (no paywall).

☐ A data management plan can be provided.

☐ Data and software can be shared, or justified restrictions can be documented.

If you cannot tick all boxes, the application is likely ineligible for the 2026 call.
